Two weeks before the earthquake that was the election of Donald Trump as the next President of the United States, my bishop, William Murphy of Rockville Centre, New York, boldly and unequivocally wrote to his flock that no Catholic could vote for any politician who advocated for and supported the abortion of a child.
Bishop Murphy heads up our Diocese of nearly 2 million. He is nearly 76 and has tendered his resignation as required by canon law although his successor has not yet been named and he remains in charge. No doubt, the bishop of Rome will soon learn of his unequivocal announcement and will move quickly to remove him and appoint a spineless bishop along the lines of himself, such as Cupich or that despicable being in San Diego and many others who make up the majority of bishops around the world today.
In the present climate created by this pontificate of Bergoglio, Bishop Murphy took a bold stance. Not only subjecting himself to the coming vindictive backlash from Bergoglio, he had to know that fake “c”atholics would immediately lash out and condemn him. Of course, the local distorters had to trot out that ilk in when they wrote about his pronouncement. Real Catholics know them to be what they are — heretics—and sure enough their stupidity had to be trotted out and quoted.
Needless to say, these heretics who believe that children ought to be murdered if their mother wants to murder them couldn’t fall over themselves fast enough to condemn our Bishop for stating the truth. Yet, Bishop Murphy had to have known that this would be the immediate reaction from the heretics, that their vociferous opposition would be prominent in the reportage, that a target would be on him for Bergoglio and company to shoot at, but loudly proclaimed the truth despite all that.
I can’t speak for Bishop Murphy and I don’t now what he believed to be coming at him, but I do know he is not an idiot and must have known. And he must be aware of the coming wrath of Bergoglio and company for his proclamation of the fundamental truth and guidance for real Catholics which, as we know, is not the modus operandi of those purported to be running the Church today.
At some point, we will all stand to be judged. As a Bishop, that judgment will be even more severe and rightfully so. It has been said that the road to Hell is paved with the skulls of bishops. I believe that Bishop Murphy will have helped his chances that his skull will not be one of those joining Bergoglio and his sycophants.
I don’t know how many Catholics or others paid attention to Bishop Murphy and voted appropriately because of him. Quite frankly, I was stunned that I read about his pronouncement which was prominently published in our local newspaper, Newsday, which is the only major newspaper on Long Island. However, there must be others like me that have realized that if a human being can be killed in what ought to be the safest place, his or her mother’s womb, then nothing else matters. NOTHING.
Unfortunately, and very sadly, most bishops don’t have that understanding. Many of them will pal around with and yuk it up with those who believe otherwise, who countenance the murder of a child for expedience or comfort’s sake, who believe that other concerns trump the murder, and will contrive excuses and run interference for those who murder their own children. Most sadly, our pope, Bergoglio, is one of those despicable and evil minds.
Nevertheless, there are a few real Bishops and real Catholics that get this and will not back down, despite personal jeopardy, ridicule, ostracization, and persecution. Bishop William Murphy is one such man.
Bishop Murphy is a man in need of your prayers and gratitude, as well as mine. Thank you, Bishop Murphy.
