T -214: And the Walls, Come Tumbling Down

This is spot on with the analogy of the Church hierarchy today and the collapse of the communist states in 1989 and then the Soviet Union. I was a political science student at Columbia University in 1989, studying the rise and implementation of communist states by day, and then watching them unravel at night on the news. My learned professors were completely dumbfounded and had no inkling it was going to happen nor how to explain it, so they didn’t. What I saw was that the communist states were built on “truths”, on “dogmas”, but which were in theory at most half-truths and more often outright lies, particularly acutely seen when put into practice in daily lives of the people. Such a society must collapse eventually. And such institutions must also collapse. I saw that then, but the learned professors trusted more in the power of a gun and intimidation to defeat Truth, whereas I trusted that Truth had to defeat lies, even if it took decades. The people of Poland, Hungary, East Germany, Czechoslovakia and Romania were the first to refuse to live the lie any longer and did not back down from the intimidation and threats, and even actual gunfire. The “spirit of Vatican II” Church is at that point today, and it is on the verge of its collapse. As in the old Communist states where the government bureaucrats and leaders kept claiming everything was great and getting better all the time but the reality showed the opposite, most in the Church hierarchy are doing the same where the reality is showing that it is clearly the opposite. The “spirit of Vatican II” Church is only a facade, based upon false “t”ruths that have caused Catholics to leave in droves, to reject the false “pastoral” application of 1968 that has convinced them that the Church stands for nothing anymore, and even to believe that there is no objective Truth anymore because they made Jesus into just another wise nice hippy no more relevant than Buddha. The difference between the failed communist states and the Church is that communism deprived people of material hope and prosperity, but the Church as constituted in most places since Vatican II has deprived people of the Truth and the means to salvation, the only real hope that matters, and led many to lose likely their salvation.

In the coming days, we will see the spirit of Vatican II hierarchy make their threats and maybe even bring out their version of the guns, but they will lose because they are basing their program on lies. This will collapse, perhaps not as dramatically as the events of 1989-1990, The facade may not remain, and the rotted interior will then have to be swept out, but the foundation, the rock, will remain and the Church will again rise and thrive. We are truly living through another astonishing and unforeseen twist of history, and we’ll see it very soon. Lies don’t have traction for too long whereas Truth endures.

The Deus Ex Machina Blog

Berlin Wall

In yesterday’s post titled Alternative Realities – Polar Bear Hunting, we tapped into a regular theme of this blog that could be summed up with the catchy witticism “what you see ain’t necessarily what you get”. An example of the above catchy phrase could be the reported story of the one American cardinal who turned to the TeamBergoglio American cardinal and remarked “we were sold a different set of good”. But I digress…

The point of yesterday’s post was nothing more that to provide a clear and concise example of the fact that “alternative realities” exist in the wider media environment, regardless of whether they are based on “objective reality” or not. In an earlier age, a story such as the Reuters one identified yesterday, based on a false premise would have been caught by the editorial staff. However, we are living in times where “objective reality” is for the…
