Take Your Cookie, Dip Your Cookie: Another Fruit of the “Spirit of Vatican II”

I want to share this from the Catholic Conclave blog.  If you care about the profanation of the Lord in the Eucharist, you might have the sensation that your head might explode.  I’ll just point out that the priests are sitting or standing by as the parade of mostly old women who should know better parade up to the table, take their “cookie”, dip it in the cup which I presume is the Most Precious Blood and feed themselves.  Some even hand the host to the next person.

The “spirit of Vatican II” in full bloom.

The priests should be ashamed of themselves, should be doing severe penance, and should be sent packing for total dereliction of duty.  And where’s the bishop?  Probably writing other parishes that they should be undertaking this feast at the table themselves.

Why?  Why?  Why?  Are there only 48 people left in the Catholic world that get it anymore?  I’m truly afraid that most Catholics wouldn’t get bothered by this in the least, except to worry about whether they could pull it off without staining their shirt.

Friggin’ amazing what goes on.  Friggin’ amazing.

Please go to the link and watch the abomination for yourselves and promise to never do this.

Not at all. No one touches the Eucharist but the priest. When I was an altar boy in the Novus Ordo Mass, people still knelt at the Communion rail to receive. My job was to walk beside the priest and hold the paten under the chin as he gave the Eucharist. One of the memories I have was watching people receive the Eucharist and most did it reverently. Now we all line up and most have the host placed in their palm and feed themselves. I still receive on the tongue but now I use my hand beneath my own chin as a paten. Meanwhile, the altar boys are left to sit and watch with nothing to do.
You are so blessed to be able to attend the Mass you do; it is so difficult around here to do so.
