Sir Elton spoke passionately about ending AIDS in his lifetime to the point that the EJAF could cease to exist. And he had high praise for the Vatican. “Pope Francis my hero,” he said, praising the Pontiff lavishly for his efforts to educate about AIDS and change international attitudes. The Pope should be doing the Crocodile Rock this morning after hearing so many compliments !
“He is a compassionate, loving man who wants everybody to be included in the love of God,” Sir Elton said of the pope. “It is formidable what he is trying to do against many, many people in the church that opposes. He is courageous and he is fearless, and that’s what we need in the world today.” He added: “Make him a saint already, ok?” Elton and David are true mensches.
True mensches? Far from it.
“Sir” Elton doesn’t praise him for bringing the Gospel to the world, for speaking fearlessly and courageously about Jesus being the Savior, for speaking boldly and courageously about the need for conversion, for baptism, for living according to the Truth, for being in the one true Church established by Jesus outside of which there is no salvation. He couldn’t because Pope Francis does not tell these truths to the world, because that wouldn’t be nice, would hurt oh so many feelings, and because it is becoming distressingly apparent that he doesn’t seem to believe these to be truths himself. And if he did, Elton would be heaping condemnation on him.
These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be filled. This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do the things that I command you. I will not now call you servants: for the servant knoweth not what his lord doth. But I have called you friends: because all things whatsoever I have heard of my Father, I have made known to you.
You have not chosen me: but I have chosen you; and have appointed you, that you should go, and should bring forth fruit; and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. These things I command you, that you love one another. If the world hate you, know ye, that it hath hated me before you. If you had been of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember my word that I said to you: The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also.
But all these things they will do to you for my name’ s sake: because they know not him who sent me. If I had not come, and spoken to them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. He that hateth me, hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no other man hath done, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father. But that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law: They hated me without cause.
That is from the Gospel of John. It’s very different from the “gospel” of Elton John.
I used to like Elton John’s music. Then, like many other entertainers, they decided that they have to tell people what to believe, how they should think and act, and what social policies people should pursue, and what their religion should and should not be. Now I can’t listen to the music and enjoy it anymore. It comes with all the other garbage, that I didn’t need to know about him, his buggery, his attack on religion and all the rest. There are many others like this, like the actors who act well and then have to tell me they’re active buggerers. Then, when I try to watch a movie in which they act, the garbage is there and I can no longer just watch the performance. I really enjoyed the Lord of the Rings films, and then I had to be told that Ian what’s-his-name, the guy who played the part of Gandalf, sits in hotel rooms tearing out pages from the Bibles he finds where buggery is declared to be the abomination and sin it is because he’s one of those engaging in buggery. I didn’t know anything about the guy before and enjoyed his acting. Now, my copies of the movies are no longer viewed because all that other garbage comes to mind when his face is on the screen.
Just shut up and sing or act. I don’t care about your opinions, your philosophies, your causes and concerns or anything else because they don’t mean anything to me toe-tapping along to Crocodile Rock or watching the movie you acted in. You’re not important beyond that. But once you’ve made your public declarations, I have to do what I can to call out your errors and your evil pronouncements and actions because you’ve become a public potential scandal to real Catholics.
The bigger concern here is with Pope Francis being so loved by “Sir” Elton. He seems to believe that Pope Francis is going to change the Church and declare buggery a blessing and change the Truth. The world loves the Pope, those same people who hate the Church when Her Truth is spoken. And the more worldly adulation the pope gets, the less of those Truths he speaks before the world.
When I was younger and someone said something about somebody else, the refrain was ‘takes one to know one’. It seems that Elton sees who applauds the “who am I to judge” pope and who’s latching on to the message he’s sending out to the world.
Here is a quote from the epistle of Saint James that sheds a little more light on the topic.
Adulterers, know you not that the friendship of this world is the enemy of God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of this world, becometh an enemy of God. Or do you think that the scripture saith in vain: To envy doth the spirit covet which dwelleth in you?
But he giveth greater grace. Wherefore he saith: God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Be subject therefore to God, but resist the devil, and he will fly from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners: and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy into sorrow. Be humbled in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.
